Alan was head coach of the Minnesota Strikers (MISL) for four years and was named Soccer Digest's MISL Coach of the Year twice. He played in the NASL 197 times. In 9 years, he also played 250 games in the English Premier Division. Over the past 20 years, he has been part of hundreds of clinics and coaching sessions, impacting the sport in our area. Alan holds the USSF 'A'and Canadian 'A'' License, and English F.A. Coaching Badge, and is one of 34 coaches with the NSCAA Premier License. This past fall, Alan acquired and reopened the Corner Kick indoor soccer facility in Maplewood. Alan Merrick's Corner Kick is currently running leagues and training programs for youth and adults.
