DON'T BE FOOLED BY OTHER SPEED PROGRAMS WHO CLAIM TO BE "SOCCER SPECIFIC." S.P.A.T. WAS DEVELOPED FROM THE GROUND UP... BY SOCCER PLAYERS, FOR SOCCER PLAYERS.

Custom Overbuilt Treadmill
Our industrial over-size treadmill was custom designed specifically for S.P.A.T.. It's superwide track (96" long by 36" wide) allows athletes the widest range of motion available anywhere. This provides for full extension of the leg and hip, allowing athletes to train without the limitations of other popular treadmill programs.

Athletes are also harnessed to an overhead bar, eliminating any chance of serious injury from fall. These safety measures allow us to push athletes outside of their comfort zone much more than can be accomplished with flat ground training or with any other program.

The most powerful treadmill anywhere, the S.P.A.T. treadmill removes all drag and fosters the overspeed environments neccessary to properly recruit the muscles utilized during full out sprints. Overspeeds provide an emphasis on training the neuromuscular system to work at a faster pace by increasing stride rate and power.

Plyometrics

Popularized by a Russian sprinter in the 1960's, plyometrics are widely used to increase power. Plyometric excercises are those in which the muscle is stretched initially followed by immediate maximum contraction. The ability of Plyometrics to develop speed and power above and beyond traditional weight training is what makes this style of training a crucial variable in almost any successful sports conditioning program... especially soccer.

Physiologically, plyometrics work by harnessing both the stretch reflex and the elasticity of the connective tissue in and around the muscles during this "stretch." The stretch reflex is the reflex contraction of a muscle in response to an applied stretch. When the muscle is stretched or "loaded" at the end of the eccentric phase of a plyometric drill, the muscle will reflexively contract. This reflex contraction aids in the total force production during the concentric or "unloading" phase.

S.P.A.T. has designed a plyometric protocol which targets the appropriate "fast twitch" and "slow twitch" fibers of the muscle responsible for these eccentric and concentric phases of contraction. Especially in the common movements utilized in the game of soccer.

Sprint Cord Training

Cord technology is used to develop more efficient mechanics in an athletes stride and arm movements, learning to relax the opposite muscle when the active muscle is working. S.P.A.T. goes beyond traditional cord training by combining it with specific soccer movements needed in order to be successful on the soccer field.
